Re-Tek recycle and trade in IT equipment, and opted for a 60kW biomass boiler installed on a mezzanine in their factory…

This successful Scottish company that recycles and trades in IT equipment, was keen to improve the environmental and cost profile of its modern 22,000 square foot factory near Glasgow. They opted for a wood pellet boiler over a photovoltaic system. Glendevon Energy designed, specified and installed the winning solution. Challenges included there being no pre-existing plant room, space for a fuel store or wet distribution system in the factory.

A 60kW Windhager BioWIN Exklusiv wood pellet boiler was positioned on the mezzanine floor. Fan coil units were installed for the factory heat distribution, with DHW and weather compensated heating supplied to the office. A 9 tonne wood pellet store, designed by Glendevon Energy and manufactured in the UK, was installed on the ground floor.

The wood pellet boiler replaced half of the factory’s gas fired warm air units and 100% of office heating and DHW. The customer now collects the Non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive.
