Glendevon Energy is a family owned and managed business that has been installing and maintaining renewable heating technologies since 2005.

We service and maintain Heat Pump, Biomass and Solar Thermal systems for commercial and domestic customers across a wide area of Scotland, and have in house Engineers to give the highest quality of workmanship.

Hugh started the company in 2005 installing solar thermal panels for domestic and commercial customers, then moved into installing air and ground source heat pumps for social housing with a contract for Fife Council. In 2007 Hugh’s wife Katherine joined the business and they added biomass boilers to the range – including installing one for the house and office.

In 2009 Glendevon Energy were the first company in Scotland to become MCS accredited for Biomass, Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal installations, and the foundations of our current company were formed.

Government incentives and planning laws do affect which technologies are most cost effective and desirable to install – and our long standing experience means we can tailor our proposal to your individual property and needs.  With many companies coming and going in renewables, we are also able to offer continuity and loyalty to customers – continuing to offer servicing and repairs through thick and thin.

Excellent customer service and persistence in getting to the bottom of issues mean that we are a growing force in the maintenance market for renewables.

Whilst Katherine heads up the maintenance and business side of Glendevon Energy, Hugh leads sales of heat pumps and biomass boilers alongside developing larger scale projects. Hugh originated two successful Hydro Schemes from scratch – these are now independent businesses, one of which (Rumbling Bridge)  was Scotland’s largest community owned Hydro Scheme at the time of commissioning.

Presently development ambitions are focused on a project to expand wood pellet production in Scotland and reduce the UK’s reliance on imports.

Glendevon Energy is centrally located in Perth & Kinross with Angus, Fife, the Lothians, the Borders, Glasgow & the Clyde, Clackmannanshire, Dundee & Angus, and Stirling regions within easy reach.
